National Day Celebration
The Embassy of Nepal in Cairo hosted a reception to celebrate the national day (constitution day) of Nepal at Conrad Hotel, at the center of Cairo on Wednesday, 18 September 2019. H. E. Mr. Hani Salem, Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs of Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs participated the function as Chief Guest. Senior government officials, heads of diplomatic missions as well as regional and international organization based in Cairo, media people, business community, members of Nepali community, Egyptian friends of Nepal, Honourary Consuls of Nepal in the region and theofficials of the Embassy and family members were present on the occasion.
Earlier in the morning, H. E. Mr. Abdel Aziz El-Sherif, the Chamberlain of the Presidency met His Excellency the Ambassador of Nepal at latter’s office to convey Egyptian President’s greetings to the President of Nepal and Nepalese people on this special occasion.
The Ambassador of Nepal to Egypt H.E. Mr. Jhabindra P. Aryal, while welcoming the guests in the celebrations, delivered a speech highlighting the importance of the day as well as the salient features of Nepal’s constitution. The Ambassador also shed light on the excellent state of bilateral relations between Nepal and Egypt stating that both countries treasure ancient cultures and civilizations, thus exists tremendous scope and potential to further promote tourism, trade, investment for the mutual benefit of the two countries. He emphasized that the Government of Nepal has designated coming year as “Visit Nepal Year 2020” to attract more tourists in the country and to encourage travelers to visit Nepal.
The Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs speaking at the function conveyed congratulations and best wishes on behalf of the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt and expressed his happiness that Nepal and Egypt enjoy excellent state of bilateral relations. He also highlighted the bilateral relations matured over more than six decades expanding the areas of cooperation in the best interests of two countries.
The program was started with playing the national anthems of the two countries. Nepal’s cultural heritages, beautiful geographical landscapes, adventure tourism activities, wildlife in Nepal were screened throughout the program. Nepalese artist performed cultural dances during the reception.A celebration cake to mark the special day was cut jointly by the Chief Guest and the Ambassador of Nepal to Egypt. The reception was followed by a dinner. A full-page coverage on Nepal having some facts and figures, investment and tourism opportunities, information on Visit Nepal Year 2020 including the message of the Ambassador was also published in today’s Egyptian Gazette, a popular English daily.

नेपाली राजदूतावास कायरो, इजिप्टमा एक विशेष स्वागत समारोहको आयोजना गरी नेपालको राष्ट्रिय दिवस यही असोज 01, 2076 मा मनाइएकोछ ।उक्त समारोहमा प्रमुख अतिथिको रुपमा सहायक परराष्ट्र मन्त्री हानी सलिम सहभागी हुनु भएको थियो भने अन्य अतिथिहरुमा सरकारका उच्च पदस्थ पदाधिकारीहरु, कूटनैतिक नियोगका नियोग प्रमुखहरु, अन्तराष्ट्रिय संघ संस्थाका प्रमुखहरु, संचार कर्मीहरु, व्यवशायी तथा व्यापारिक समूदाय, नेपाली समूदाय, नेपालका मित्रहरु, अवैतनिक वाणिज्यदूतहरु तथा राजदूतावासका पदाधिकारी तथा परिवारका सदस्यहरुको उपस्थिति रहेको थियो ।
यस अघि आजै विहान इजिप्टका राष्ट्रपतिका विशेष प्रतिनिधिका रुपमा च्याम्बरलिन श्री अब्देल अजिज अल सरिफले नेपाली राजदूतावासमा आएर महामहिम राजदूतलाई भेटगरी इजिप्टका राष्ट्रपतिका तर्फबाट नेपालका सम्माननीय राष्ट्रपति, नेपाली जनता र नेपाली राजदूतावास परिवारलाई राष्ट्रिय दिवसको अवसरमा शुभकामना व्यक्त गर्नुभएको थियो ।
राष्ट्रिय दिवसको अवसरमा अतिथिहरुलाई स्वागत गर्दै महामहिम राजदूत श्री झविन्द्र प्रसाद अर्यालले आफ्नो बक्त्वय मार्फत नेपालको संविधानका विशेषताहरु, द्बिपक्षीय सुमधुर संबन्ध, व्यापार, लगानी तथा पर्यटनका क्षेत्रमा विस्तार गर्न सकिने संभावनाहरु तथा नेपालले सन् 2020 लाई नेपाल भ्रमण वर्षको रुपमा मनाउन लागेको संबन्धमा विशेष मन्त्तव्य व्यक्त गर्नु भएको थियो ।
कार्यक्रममा प्रमुख अतिथिको रुपमा रहनु भएको परराष्ट्र सहायक मन्त्रीले यस अवसरमा इजिप्ट सरकारको तर्फबाट शुभकामना व्यक्त गर्दै नेपाल र इजिप्ट वीचका संबन्धहरु विगत छ दशक भन्दा बढी समयदेखि परिपक्क हुदै आएका छन् भन्नु भयो ।
दुवै देशका राष्ट्रिय धुनहरु वजाई शुरु भएको उक्त कार्यक्रममा नेपालका सांस्कृतिक धरोहरहरु, सुन्दर भौगोलिक दृष्यहरु, पर्यटकीय तथा सांस्कृतिक झलकहरु, नेपालका वन्य जन्तु आदि ठूलो विधुतीय पर्दामा प्रस्तुत गरिएको थियो । नेपाली कलाकारहरुले सो अवसरमा लोक नृत्य प्रस्तुत गरेका थिए ।
महामहिम नेपाली राजदूत तथा विशेष अतिथिद्बारा संयुक्तरुपमा यस विशेष अवसरको केक काटिएको थियो । कार्यक्रममा संपूर्ण अतिथिहरुलाई रात्रिभोजको व्यवस्था गरिएको थियो । स्थानीय प्रसिद्ध अंग्रेजी दैनिक इजिप्सीयन गजेटको एक पूर्ण पृष्ठमा नेपाल संबन्धी महत्त्वपूर्ण जानकारीहरु, व्यापार, लगानी, पर्यटनका अवसरहरु, सन् 2020 को नेपालको विशेष भ्रमण वर्ष तथा राजदूतको मन्त्तव्य प्रकाशित गरिएको थियो ।
