Mr Sushil K Lamsal joined Nepal’s Foreign Service in 2004.
He holds a Master’s Degree (Honors) in International Relations and International Economics from SAIS, Johns Hopkins University, and a Master’s Degree in Economics from Tribhuvan University, Nepal.
Mr Lamsal served as Minister/Deputy Chief of Mission in Beijing [2017-2021], Counsellor and Deputy Chief of Mission in Dhaka [2014-2016] and Consul in Hong Kong [2007-2010].
At Headquarters, Mr Lamsal served as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs [2016] & [2021-22] and as Director General of the Department of Passports, MOFA [2016-17]. He has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Fulbright Commission, Nepal [2021-22].
Mr Lamsal received the Excellence in Civil Service Award from the Government of Nepal in 2020, and was a recipient of Fulbright Scholarship [2011-13].
Mr Lamsal took charge as Ambassador of Nepal to the Arab Republic of Egypt on 31 July 2022.
